Mix & Match : Tutu Skirt
Tutu skirts are primarily used by ballerinas, but it is also used as a fashion icon by many fahsionistas. I think one of the main reasons is that it gives you a certain unique chic flare once you use it.
Just like jeans, tutu skirts can be paired with anything. With 'anything' I mean you can go rocker, preppy, or you can wear it on a day event, a semiformal, a casual - to make things short, it can be an all-around fashion item. Bur of course you must be able to pair it well with the right top and shoes.
Variety of Tutu skirt colors, designs, cloth, and prints are offered in the market. I suggest you buy colors that are basic and can easily be match with items you have on your closet, or items you will still buy.
Basic colors I suggest are beige, cream, white, black.
LET'S MIX AND MATCH!!

Doctor's Bag is Still In!
You know that doctors have their signature bags - the "Doctor Bag". It started to be noticed when home services were done by doctors to whose "elite" people - like those with fever or those going to bear child. It contained tools which would help the doctor assess and cure their in-house patients. I think we all saw this bag at movies from old days.

In 1930's, when Louis Vuitton designed a ladies' bag called Speedy, perhaps she was inspired by the bags used by the doctors. Not later on, brands like Gucci., Channel, Bottega Veneta and Coach made their own versions of the doctor bag.

Nowadays, the Doctor Bag is becoming quite popular again that it's not just doctors who use it. It is now a fashion item. A must-have that caters both style and functionality. It is mostly made of leather, usually a hand bag, but some has slings for shoulder use. I have one Doctor Bag which I inherited from my grandmom - it looks vintage and cool. Here are some Doctor Bag styles you would want to have:

Lassie Online - Give-aways!
I had an online fashion store which I closed because I didn't had much time to attend to my customers. I also have two other friends who had online stores which they close due to the same reason I had. And now, the three of us decided to open up a new online store and we will collaborate in running the business. We will be joined by my cousin, so it'll be four of us.
We will conducting a give-away for five women. Here are the items we will be giving away:
We have different styles and fashion-beauty needs, so I guess our online store will cater wide variety of styles and products. I think many people can relate and will have different things to choose from.
We are currently working on it as for now. We are dedicated to pursue and work hard for this online store this year.
Anyway, the name of the online store is LASSIE ONLINE. Lassie means "women", so therefore, we will be catering more of the for-girls stuffs. But expect to see for guys and unisex items. Check out our page in facebook , and please LIKE it...

Featured Stylists: Yang Sengho and Daniel Lee
The Korean girl group 2NE1 has been making waves since their debut in 2009. They had made a very big influence throughout Asia and some places in Europe and America; this entails not just in the music industry but also in the fashion industry. 2NE1's success would not be possible without the two important people behind their colorful and edgy style - their stylists Yang Seung Ho (AKA Yanggaeng or Xin) and Daniel “Sexy” Lee.

Iza Caldazo joins ABSCBN!
Wow! I'm so amazed and happy by the news that Iza Calzado (one of my favorite female Filipino actress) signed a 3-year contract with ABSCBN (my favorite, and one of the leading television companies in the Philippines) last Tuesday. She will be having a drama show, a reality show, and some movies. I am so excited for her to be paired up with John Llyod Cruz (my favorite male Filipino actor)!
There are many beautiful celebrities in the Philippines, and many dresses well. It's so hard to chose which one is the best, but for me, one of the fee celebrities who really stands out is Iza Calzado. Iza is a unique person because she can be boyish yet still remain like a goddess. Whatever you let her wear, she brings out the best of those pieces.

My Airport Fashion : Minimalist & Practical
What I wore at the airport:
White plain Blouse with White plain Cardigan
(Shapes) (Forever21)
-I'm a minimalist especially during travel... I don't usually wear accessories but my pearl earrings. All those body checks make accessories inconvenient to wear.
Blue Jeggings
(Japanese Brand)
-Jeggings are easy to wear, stretchable, thick, easy to move with, and safely stylish! Very practical!
Brown/Gold/Bronze flat sandals with beads
(Boardwalk)
-We usually take off our shoes at the airport during body checks so this is convenient at the same time stylish. It's easy to walk around the airport without minding pain on your soles. Since Philippines is a tropical country, coldness is not an issue.
Brown leather sling bag
(Barbour)
-Convenient, especially that you can just hang it over your shoulders while carrying other luggage. It is also convenient considering its size. It keeps my being "minimalist" but at the same time matches my sandals. Practical but sophisticated.
I usually just put a little make up on my face during travel - base cream foundation topped with powder foundation, blush on (natural-looking), a little mascara on my eyelashes to keep my eyes open, and a lip balm. I'm not a celebrity so I don't expect paparazzi waiting for me at the airport. I can just be myself! :)

Fashionista Butuanon talks about holidays being on abroad
Decorations, gifts, food, Christmas lights, fireworks - these are the things that make out holiday season. But what completes the whole package are our family and friends.
For some Butuanon ladies who are currently working on other countries, Christmas is way a lot different from what they are used to. According to Myra Salas, from Singapore,
December 2010 was the first Christmas she spent away from her family. Thank God she immediately found new friends after moving in Singapore to work as an assistant nurse. They cooked food and exchanged gifts. During New Year's Eve, she and her friends went to the famous Marina Bay and celebrated the welcoming of 2011. It was fun but spending it with her family in their home is way far better. This is her second time to spend the holidays far from home yet Myra said that she's still feeling lonely being away from her family.

Many Butuanons had already migrated to different parts of the world. They had already adjusted to the new culture and had already gotten over feeling homesick during the holidays. Judith Montilla, a physical therapist from California USA, said that the first few years were difficult but as time went on, she got used to her situation. She started to have her own family and now has two beautiful girls. Even though she's already happy living in America, she said that Christmas in the Philippines is way better than any place in the world because of the family bonding and traditions.
For Catherine Busa, ex Project Manager in China, coming back in Butuan Philippines, after many years of being away from her family during holidays, is emotionally euphoric. She used to spend her Christmas and new years on working on her hotel room.
Other fashionista Butuanon currently living abroad also shared what they miss about Butuan City, Philippines.

Christmas Fashion
Everyone's favorite season of the year is just around the corner. I'm sure you're all buzzing about the up coming company parties, family reunions and get-together with friends. I, myself, am expecting four company Christmas parties, family reunions, and at least two get-together even with friends. Aside that I'm worrying about what gifts to give and what food to bring, my number 1 concern is what to wear!
