Star Magazine says clothing lines owned by the Kardashians are made in factories in China which applies harsh conditions to their workers. This was according to an investigation by the Institute for Global Labour and Human Rights. These factories labor 84 hours a wee with $1/hour salary in a 100-degrees heat squalid rooms with no air-conditioning. This includes QVC brands K-Dash by Kardashian and the Kris Jenner Kollection.
"Not only are celebrities like the Kardashians taking advantage of these workers," institute exec director Charles Kernaghan is quoted as saying, "they are holding hands with a government that spits on democracy and women's rights."
I think that this issue should be investigated more. We all know what labour abuse and violation of human rights to labour is very much rampant in China. Labor is very cheap in China but the products made in China are sold at very high prices in many countries - who benefits? Just picture out poverty among Chinese workers and the glamour of those retailers... It is such an unfair business! There should be proper salary, benefits and working conditions to those workers. I hope the Kardashians will have their names cleared out from this allegation if it is not true, or have things straightened out if it isn't true.
if this IS true... SHAME ON THEM. Shame on all who do not respect the rights of humans.
